Terms of Service
The rules for using Chinerary, kept as short as we could reasonably make them.
These terms are between you and Websta (CVR 38622307), C/O Steffen Andreas Kloster, Guldbergsgade 105, 1. 3, 2200 København N, Denmark (“we”, “us”), operating Chinerary. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.
The service
Chinerary helps you plan a China trip: build a route, track a budget, and get help from Lulu, our AI trip assistant. It’s a planning tool, not a booking service or a licensed travel agency; we don’t book flights, hotels, or visas on your behalf, and nothing in the app is a substitute for official visa, customs, or health guidance from the relevant authorities.
Your account
- You need an account to use most of the app. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials to yourself.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Give us accurate information when you sign up: an email you actually control, in particular, since that’s how we reach you about your account.
- An account is personal: for you, and anyone else in your own household. Don’t share your login with a travel companion, friend, or anyone else outside your household, and don’t use someone else’s account instead of creating your own. If you want a travel companion to see your plan, use the “Share this trip” link in Settings instead; it gives them a read-only view of your route and cities without handing over your account. We may look at sign-in activity (device, IP address, and country) to detect accounts being used this way, and can suspend or close an account that is.
Your content
The itineraries, budgets, and notes you create are yours. We store and display them back to you as part of providing the service, and don’t claim any ownership over them. You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings; see the Privacy Policyfor the details.
Lulu, our AI assistant
Lulu is an AI, not a travel expert, and can be wrong: about prices, train times, visa rules, or anything else. Treat what she says as a starting point, not a source of truth, and verify anything that actually matters (visa requirements especially) against an official source. See the Lulu Chat Policy for how the chat itself works.
Silk and Jade Pass purchases
- A Silk Pass or Jade Pass is a one-time purchase that unlocks that tier’s features for a fixed period (3 or 12 months from purchase, shown at checkout); it doesn’t auto-renew, and there’s nothing to cancel.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in USD at checkout.
- Buying a pass is only ever an upgrade: you can buy Jade while on Silk (it replaces Silk and extends your remaining access), but you can’t buy a lower tier while a higher one is active.
- If you’re a consumer in the EU/EEA or UK, you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from this purchase, starting the day you pay, for a full refund, no reason required. Pass access unlocks immediately on payment rather than waiting out that 14-day window; by completing checkout, you’re expressly asking us to start supplying it right away and acknowledging what that means: if you withdraw within the 14 days, we’ll refund you minus an amount proportionate to the part of the pass period (3 or 12 months) you’d already had access to at that point, not a full forfeiture just because you used the features it unlocked. To request a withdrawal, email support@chinerary.com.
- Outside of that statutory right, pass purchases are otherwise non-refundable, though we’ll always hear you out at the email above if something’s gone wrong on our end.
Acceptable use
Don’t:
- Use the service for anything illegal, or to harass, abuse, or impersonate anyone.
- Try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its data.
- Scrape, resell, or republish the app’s own content (the destination guides, code, design) without permission.
- Use Lulu to generate content that’s illegal, abusive, or designed to extract the underlying system prompt or abuse the AI provider’s own usage policies.
Every Lulu AI feature, capped or “unlimited” (Jade), is subject to fair use: a generous rate limit is in place to stop scripted or automated abuse of the underlying AI service, not to cap normal trip planning. We can throttle or suspend an account that repeatedly hits it, or that otherwise does any of the above.
No warranty, limited liability
Chinerary is provided “as is.” We work to keep it accurate and running, but we don’t guarantee it’ll be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any information in it (prices, train times, AI-generated suggestions) is current or correct. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including a booking, purchase, or travel decision made based on information in the app. Nothing here limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited (for example, for fraud or gross negligence), and nothing here, including the “as is” language above or the non-refundable language in pass purchases, takes away any statutory right you have as a consumer if a paid feature you bought doesn’t work as described; where that applies, we’ll fix it, credit it, or refund it as the law requires.
Changes and termination
We may change or discontinue features, and may update these terms; if we do the latter materially, we’ll update the date below and, for significant changes, let you know directly. You can close your account at any time from Settings; we can suspend or close an account that violates these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Disputes not resolved informally are subject to the jurisdiction of the Danish courts. If you’re a consumer habitually resident in the EU/EEA or UK, this doesn’t take away the protections that the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence give you, and you can also bring proceedings in the courts of that country instead of Denmark’s.
